Telstra’s 2G network shutdown by December 1st 2016 and the Optus 2G network shutdown on the 1st April 2017 are part of a continuing trend of cellular network operators around the world shutting down their 2G networks and re-farming spectrum. Our blog this month looks at the options for transition from 2G networks.

1. Feature – M2M One Group Data Plans

Did you know that M2M One offer two different types of data plan?

Our CAP data plan offers you a fixed amount of data per SIM – When a SIM reaches it’s limit it will be suspended until the following month or until the SIM is moved to a higher data plan. The CAP plan is a great way to avoid excess usage charges but doesn’t offer much flexibility for devices with varying usage profiles.

For customers with large fleets of devices we recommend the use of the M2M One Group Data Plans – Group data plans offer much more flexibility, allowing your SIMs to contribute to a variable pool of data. By aggregating your data across your entire fleet you can not only reduce your operating costs but also protect yourself against excess usage, while not having to worry about a SIM hitting it’s quota.
